One of my all time favorite records and the best time in my 20's in NYC.

While this was a different group than the one that had all the big hits on Bell, I think they did a great job vocally on these two Motown records. One of their songs was even in Thank God Its Friday, the movie, not the soundtrack. This tune definitely feels like a Commodores tune, like Sweet Love.

Rare gem.

This was my favorite song when I was a kid & got a tiny portable radio with a pull-up antenna and an earphone vs a speaker. To this day I find it hauntingly beautiful. btw, when I was in the Army in '70 there was a song 'Brandy' about a guy who'd choose the embrace of the sea to that of a Woman. Meanwhile I'm out it the yard in a rowboat but nobody is pining for me from shore, and I don't sing either. 🙂

I heard Salior (your home is the sea) by Lolita when it became a hit in America in 1961. My mom tried to teach me the German alphabet when I was a little kid. I think her mennonite ancestors came to America on the Concord, the German Mayflower, to start a new life in America. I always wanted to visit Germany, especially Berlin.

Stunning voice. This song was very much in the background of my mind all these years but I never forgot it. I'm so glad I went to RUclips and looked it up. I had remembered the words but as a kid in high school I was too immature to appreciate that voice. Upon hearing her voice yesterday, I immediately ordered the CD. I'm in love. Background vocals are angelic too. =PC=
